What to Expect:


Thank you for reaching out! You have now taken the first step towards feeling better and improving your life! Below you will find useful information on what to expect at your first visit, health insurance plans and payment options accepted, and pricing for all services offered. We look forward to meeting you and are excited to help you with your psychiatric needs.

YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

Your first online appointment could last up to 60 minutes depending on the reason for your visit.
Once we connect via Telehealth video we will take time to discuss your needs and create a treatment plan to help you reach your goals.
Having online forms submitted 2 days prior to your appointment time allows the visit to be about YOU and not about filling out documents. We will review all of your information prior to your arrival to ensure a successful, relaxed visit that does not feel rushed.

INFORMATION NEEDED FOR YOUR FIRST VISIT

Specific forms needed for your first visit will be discussed during the free 15-minute initial phone consult and are dependent on which services are being requested.

Forms must be filled out and sent to NorthStar Psychiatric Health via secure patient portal, email, 2 business days prior to your scheduled appointment time. If you choose to use the patient portal we will send you a link for forms to be filled out online. 

If you are being seen for a medication management visit, we may request a copy of the most recent physical and medication list from your current Primary Care Physician within the past 1 year, and the last visit note and psychiatric medication list from your prior mental health provider.

INSURANCE AND PAYMENT OPTIONS:

Insurance and Payment Options:

Insurance Coverage: Each specific insurance payer has so many different coverage plans that may or may not cover your payment for psychiatric treatment with NorthStar Psychiatric Health. 

It is the patient’s responsibility to verify insurance benefits and coverage to ensure it is fully understood what is covered.

The best recommendation we can give any potential patient is to contact and confirm with your insurance company prior to making any appointments, and check with your specific insurance plan to see if they have NorthStar Psychiatric Health is listed as in-network.



We accept the following Health Insurance Plans for Medication Management visits:

  • Cigna

  • BlueCross and BlueShield

  • AllWays Health Partners

  • Harvard Pilgrim

  • UnitedHealthcare

  • Tufts


Payments for services provided by NorthStar Psychiatric Health are due to be paid in full at the time of service via  credit card, or other accepted electronic means if the service is not covered by the patients’ health insurance or if the patient does not have health insurance.

If you find that NorthStar Psychiatric Health is not in network with your insurance company, then our fee is $250.00/hr. An initial visit is typically 1 hour, and a follow up visit is approximately 30 minutes. This means you would pay the session fee at the time of your appointment and later seek reimbursement from your insurance. You can see if you have out-of-network coverage by calling the number on the back of your insurance  card. If not using health insurance private pay option available at fee rates noted above.
